About Proscreen

Proscreen Screen Printing Logo

Founded in 2003 by JT, a designer and craftsman with over two decades of experience, Proscreen has built a respected reputation across Australia for its blend of creativity, precision, and reliability. From the film industry and rodeo circuit to major festivals and national brands, Proscreen’s work has become quietly woven into the fabric of Australian culture. JT was the original designer behind the world-famous Culture Kings logo branding, also producing many of their garments whilst operating a successful in store clothing brand within Culture Kings.

His experience extends to developing brand style guides for Ringers Western, designing  and manufacturing merchandise for Disney/Marvel film productions, Engel Australia, Circle L Western Wear, and PBR Australia and many more. Proscreen operates with a deliberate focus on quality over quantity,  a studio built to deliver exceptional creative outcomes without compromise. Every project receives the same level of care and insight, ensuring each product not only looks right, but feels right to the people who wear it.

JT Thomson

JT Thomson is far from your average designer/manufacturer. His story runs through some of the most demanding arenas on earth, both in and out of the ring. A former Muay Thai fighter initially training out of QLD Muay Thai PCYC Broadbeach, training under Lamai Treenet from Bangkok, one of Australia’s Muay Thai pioneer coaches. He then moved on to the legendary Boonchu Gym on the Gold Coast under international superstars John Wayne and Angie Parr, after some 25 years involved in the sport of Muay Thai, he eventually earned the title of Kru and developed a distinctive approach to coaching both up-and-coming and elite fighters.

After hanging up the gloves, JT swapped the ring for the rodeo arena, starting out at a Brad Scott riding school in Kempsey before competing at local events up and down the east coast of Australia. On this journey he stayed with Australian bull-riding royalty, the Ruhland family at Lower Mount Walker, where he gained not only valuable experience in the sport of Bullriding, but also made lifelong friendships and a deep connection to rural Australia. The time spent on the rodeo circuit gave JT a genuine understanding of the people and culture that inspire much of his work today. When he designs, it comes from real experience, an instinctive feel for what the audience connects with, often carrying that vintage Americana meets Australian flavour that defines his style.

These days, JT enjoys a slower, more grounded life on the Mid North Coast of NSW, spending his time operating Proscreen, growing organic food, homeschooling his kids with his wife, and keeping life simple and connected to nature. That sense of balance and authenticity is the heartbeat of Proscreen.
